In today's math session we had started off with some Factorising On Transum. At first it was hard but as I got the hang of it, it was really easy. The class had gotten confused so it was a hard task for them, eventually they had gotten the hang of it too. Here's an example:
5a+ab= a(5+b) what letter is shown more than once,bracket plus the remaining inside it
10a+6= 16a Adding the numbers together than adding the letter on the side
Check out the site because it really helps you understand to patterns and a new way of practicing your algebra.

ReplyDeleteI think this post is awesome. It shows the learning struggle. You have one correct example, and one incorrect example. 10a+6 can be factorised to 2(5a+3) and 10a+6a=16a however 10a+6 can not be simplified. Remember "a" is a number, and between the number and the letter is an invisible multiplication sign. Algebra is a language, and learning a language takes time. Keep up the awesome mahi.
