Unit Pricing & Numskull

In today's Math session we had played/tried Unit Pricing and Numskull on Transum (If you would like to try these games click n the hyperlink).
The first game we had played was Numskull. You see, this was my first time ever playing this game so I didn't really understand the concept of the activity. although I didn't understand the Numskull I still tried to get the answers but it always ends up saying one column is incorrect which made me stress even more.

For the second game we had played (well) Unit Pricing, This was easier because we had done a game just like this, But I forgot the name of it. Anyways we had completed all 9 questions and played a mini game in the top section of the page (it was a Puzzle). After Putting the puzzle together it read this "Why is a dog with a bad foot like adding a 6 and 7? Because he puts down three and carries the one."
My overall experience was great. The quality f the question was great and the puzzle in the end was amazing.

Icons

In the 10 am session today Mrs Cardoza challenged Room 1 to write about what we think "ICONS" mean, so here is my definition on the word.
Icons are very interesting because they can range from famous celebrities to objects/foods like New Zealand's Pavlova and L&P. Icons in america are Twinkies, Beyonce and some many other celebrities.

Ctrl Tech

In Week 6 of Ctrl Tech with Mr Daniels, we had attempted the Extn Wk-RGB Col Mix file
assignment as a class. We had used Tinker-cad for this project that I named Wk-RGB Col Mix_SNM. With this task we had to use copy and paste (Ctrl C & Ctrl V) for most of the project because we had to transfer the bread board, Arduino board, resistors and the LED RGB to the other side. Once we had done that we connected the pieces together added a few lines and it turned out like this. (picture in the top left corner) After that we had tried for the very first time to debug and code the project which made the lights show the primary colors. Here's what it looks like
Overall I had a fun but stressful Tech session. The only reason why I say stressful because I started again 3 times. The first time was I didn't do it right so I decided to start again but sine I knew how to do it, it wasn't hard and the second reason is because the coding blocks didn't move so I just started all over again.

Hallows Eve

On the Hallows Eve my family had 5 more people over and their dog making 10 people in the house. It was great, I had my niece and nephew with their parents over and my niece's dog Lucky. You see with the arrival of Lucky the disappearance of my sister this is because she is not a big fan of dogs or puppies. Even though she was scared I kinda like the company of Lucky and so did my Alamoni. Since we were all hungry my mum and sister in law Vini went half on some take out. When they walked inside with the food I salivating with hunger. So as the day came to an end we ate, talked and had fun.

Remember to get vaccinated an stay safe in this Lockdown

500 Trophies

Yesterday in the morning I had reached my goal of 500 trophies in 2 months and 29 days. I have worked really hard to get up to 500 trophies in the past months. Remember to keep safe, stay healthy and vaccinate. If Auckland is 90% double vaccinated we will be given some freedom but only if all of Auckland has their double dose.

John Pule

Today Room 1 had looked and talked about John Pule. A Niuean born artist who has lived in Auckland New Zealand since 1964. I think his artworks are to bring understatement about Pacific migration and the leap of faith Pacific Islanders have to take to create an income for them and their family. We had looked at one specific piece of art created by John which will be shown on the top left comer.

We had talked on our thoughts about the art that is shown in the top left corner. Half of the class thought it was weird, I thought that shell was mean't new life cause the koru shaped rope on his head symbolized new life or new beginnings. But it was actually about the sea.

Niue Language Resources

Since it's Niuean Language Week for the past 7 days Mrs Allen has shown Room 1 a great site full of history, music and traditions. It also benefits the creators because the more exposure they get, the more they are helping keep the Niue culture alive.

If you would like to check the site out just click on the highlighted NIUE LANGUAGE RESOURCES to head on over. Remember to keep safe and stay in your bubble while Auckland and Waikato are in level 3.

Math Time

In today's first math session for term 4. When I joined the google meet I overheard them talking about suspicious deaths ending the lives of some famous names (Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G and many others). after that conversation died down the work had started. The students attending the meet were sent to Education Perfect. As the time flew by our session came to an end, so we had to set some goals before heading off.

Background Story
Education Perfect is used by many countries and students all across the world. It is not only for learning but also to learn. Education Perfect has a variety of subjects to choose from and including cultural games and learning the language.

Trophy Update

In the past 2 months I have been working really hard to get better in my maths before heading off to college, to achieve this goal Iv'e been doing a lot of Transum and other math sites to improve. So the amount of work I have been putting in is a lot, For example: I had hit 400 trophies in 2 months which has only made me want to work harder so I can achieve 500 trophies in 3 months or 2 months and a couple of days, Right now I have 450 trophies, if I can gain 50 trophies in the next couple of days I would have achieved my goal of 500. Originally I had 410 trophies just yesterday but in 2 or 3 hours I had gained 40 trophies.
Comment below how many trophies you have so far or if you like Transum.

Trophy Update

Since Friday the 24th, I have been working hard to get 400 or over 400 trophies in 2 months. So i'm glad to say I have completed 408 math tasks/games on Transum within 2 months.

I had started Transum on the 27th of July 2021 and today is the 27th of September which means I have completed my goal that I had set 3 days ago.

Transum has a great selection of games that you can play here are some of my favorites.

Dice Net Challenge

In this weeks Maths session I had done the Dice Net Challenge on Transum. This game was really fun and easy to do because you basicalling had to follow what it said in the box below and make it looking like a cube square. This game has 11 challenges and was very fun. Comment below if you have tried it or will consider trying the game.

Earthquake hits the Australian state of Victoria

At around 9.15am on Wednesday a magnitude-5.8 earthquake was detected in the Alpine National Park. This is located near the small town of Mansfield.
It was originally reported as a magnitude-6 quake, but was downgraded shortly after.
The quake was felt heavily 190km away in Melbourne, where a number of city builds were damaged.
Victoria State Emergency Service has confirmed there is no tsunami threat following the quake.
There have been no reports of serious injuries or fatalities as a result of the quake.

Trophy Update

So under 1 month and a couple of days I have been able to reach my goal of 351 trophies in my cabinet do far my next goal is 400.

If I can reach 400 trophies in 2 months and a couple of days I will try to work hard to achieve 500 trophies.

If you have more trophies or want to share your work on Transum, please post or comment down below and tell me.

Factorising

In today's math session we had started off with some Factorising On Transum. At first it was hard but as I got the hang of it, it was really easy. The class had gotten confused so it was a hard task for them, eventually they had gotten the hang of it too. Here's an example:
5a+ab= a(5+b) what letter is shown more than once, bracket plus the remaining inside it
10a+6= 16a Adding the numbers together than adding the letter on the side
Check out the site because it really helps you understand to patterns and a new way of practicing your algebra.

Maori Language Week Poster

Since it's Maori Language Week room 1 was challenged by Mrs Cardoza to make a poster based on the Maori culture . So Happy Maori Language Week. The poster is placed in the top left corner. Stay safe and remember to wear a mask in all public places when outside.

Graphs

In today's math session with Mrs Allen we had gone through Graphs. Learning about graphs had me really confused because it was my first time doing but also learning how to pin out the gradient of the line was.

Although I struggled in this area I did understand that if the line is positioned in a vertical/diagonal direction it positive if pointing downward it will be negative. This had really helped me when it came to the Kahoot. I had came in 2nd place with on 2 answers wrong that's pretty good for someone who had no clue what was going on (well at least for me).

The activity was hard so Mrs Allen decided to leave it for Next term or at least when we're ready.

Reflection

Since it's Friday Mrs Cardoza said we had to write a reflection on week 7 in lockdown, so here it is.
This week had been like any other (obviously Auckland's in lockdown). Even though we had worked on Algebraic equations and graphs to get on a higher level of maths then we were on before we went into lockdown. Some of the activities I took an interest in was the maths and the conservation week events.
So far my week has been normal and relaxing.

Trophy Update

Trophie Friday
I decided why not have a Trophy Friday. Trophie Fridays are going to be at the end of every week, that means I will try and give you an update on my trophy cabinet on Fridays. So far I have 70 trophies in total.

The progress for my studies on Transum has been really good just like my classmates.
My overall experience on Transum has been amazing especially for my learning since I'm heading to college soon. I would rate the site a 9 out of 10 just because some of the games don't come with a trophy, other than that really good. If you want to check out the site just check out my recent post on maths to try Transum and other math sites.
