Earthquake hits the Australian state of Victoria


At around 9.15am on Wednesday a magnitude-5.8 earthquake was detected in the Alpine National Park. This is located near the small town of Mansfield.
It was originally reported as a magnitude-6 quake, but was downgraded shortly after.
The quake was felt heavily 190km away in Melbourne, where a number of city builds were damaged.
Victoria State Emergency Service has confirmed there is no tsunami threat following the quake.
 There have been no reports of serious injuries or fatalities as a result of the quake.
