Ruapotaka's 66th Birthday

The cake is on the side -

Last Friday it was Ruapotaka's 66th birthday. Everyone was excited because this was the first time our school actually celebrated our birthday. Since Nurul was the eldest the he had gotten the honor to cut the cake with the youngest student named Isdora. Everyone's face lit up because they knew that they were going to have chocolate cake. The cake had blue sprinkles and chocolate frosting. It was delicious.

We then sang the happy birthday song for our school and cheered. After our celebration was over all the classes went back to their rooms and did some more work.

In this photo we have Nurul and Isdora cutting the cake -

King Street Bridge

King street bridge was a fun and confusing story I have read this year. A lot of the time I didn't know which character was which. My friend Kate thought Rebecca and Lyza were the good guys, making Hera and Jules the bullies. Anyways it was a fun story to read with my reading group. King street bridge is a cool story to read. Down below are 2 pages that was my favorite from the story.

Page 4 & 5
As Hera walked towards the bridge, she saw Rebecca and Lyza waiting for her in the shadow of the trees. Lyza and Rebecca cackled as they mocked and made Hera feel uncomfortable. Hera’s fear took control of her body making her throat and chest close up like a fist. She tried to breath for air but her airway felt so tight she couldn’t and collapsed to the rough ground.  Hera was lying down unconscious on the wet grass while Rebecca was fanning her with her reading book. Lyza freaked out thinking she killed Hera with the help of Rebecca. The 2 girls felt guilty of what they did. Hera's eyes began to open up seeing 2 big shapes coming toward her seeing if she was OK.

Alert Level 1 in New Zealand

Prime Minister - Jacinda Ardern confirms all current restrictions will be lifted in alert level 1. This will be announced on the 8th of June.  Jacinda Ardern and the ministry of health will decide if we all move to level 1,  if there are less cases of Covid 19. So if we stick to the rules New Zealand might move to level 1 by the end of winter.

The Prime Minister wants Kiwis to follow these Guidelines :
  • If you are sick stay home
  • If you have cold or flu-like symptoms, get a COVID-19 test
  • Regularly wash your hands
  • Sneeze and cough into your elbow
  • If you're told by health authorities to self-isolate, do it
  • Work with your GP if you heave underlying health issues and are at higher risk
  • Keep track of where you have been to help contact tracers
  • Businesses should help Kiwis with contact tracing by displaying QR codes
  • Be prepared for a move up alert levels if we need to
  • Be kind to others
New Zealand has now moved to Alert level 1

Volley ball

This morning Room 1 and 7 were doing volley ball. We all went down to the basketball court and met our tutor.  Her name was coach Elena. When we got there she made us run 2 laps, get into groups of 4 and made us set the ball to each other. Kate and I were on 1 side while Agueer and Winnie were on the other. I had a total blast oh and best of all when my team and I were playing king of the court we won all our matches against our opponents. On my team there was Agueer, Frank, Winnie and Pita. Everyone in the team tried their best to get the ball over the net, we did so well.  After we were done with our lesson we went back to class and did some work.
