Over the past few days Mrs Allen has been hosting meetings that are to do with maths, so I have been doing a lot of maths within my house. For example I have been practicing my multiplication throughout level 4 and so far my progress has been great. If you want to try any of the websites I have been going on just click on the names of the sites down below and it will take you there. When your on the site don't hesitate to try everything on there.

Here's a challenge for you, if your going to try your 7&8 Multiplication on AAA Maths try and get 60 questions correct in 60 seconds. If you get 60 correct in 60 seconds blog about.

Weave Silk

In the 11:30am maths session we went on Weave Silk. It was a pretty site to visit and play around with. It was very interactive and very fun to create art with. on the side you will see 2 pictures that I had created on this site.

if you want to try this activity click on the highlighted Weave Silk and enjoy creating pieces of art online. By the way leave a comment telling me what you saw in the 2 pictures or if you liked the site.

Particular Pipes

Today's maths session was focused on percentages. Everyone had to go on Particular Pipes to try out the activity. I was the presenter so I had to share my screen while I tried the activity. At first we didn't get it right because Mrs Allen and I didn't read the question right. It wasn't until Kaulave pointed out that we had misunderstood the question. I than had to do it all again but it was fine, after restarting I got it all correct. I took a screenshot and started doing this blog post. Overall It was fun but frustrating when I had to repeat it.

If you want to try this activity just click on the highlighted Particular Pipes and it will take you there, make sure you press percentages. Picture in the top right is my results.

Gapminder

The maths session today was great, I had learned a lot from the questions on the Gapminder site. I had joined the maths meeting hosted by Mrs Allen, we had did a lot of maths in the past few days with her and it is really helping us with our algebra/multiplication goals ( especially for the Year 8 students, since we're going to college). So far we have accomplished a lot in our multiplication and algebra. Gapminder was a really fun site to visit because it talked a lot about the world and the problems, here are some examples :

Gender Equality         Poverty         Good Health & Well-being           Refugees

If you would like to check the site out just click on the highlighted/underlined Gapminder, also leave a comment if you liked the site and if you would recommend it to anyone else.

The picture in the top left is the score i got in the UN goals test, 17/18 only one wrong. Take the test and see if you can get 100%.

Transum

In today's math session I had met up with some of the students from Ruapotaka and 3 of the teachers on the google meet (Mrs Cardoza, Mr Nevalangi, Mrs Allen). The focus of the session was multiplication. I tried Mathigon for the first time and I am really happy to say I enjoyed my time on the site. I also went on Transum's Tablemaster. I did my 7 timetables in front of the class, then I checked my progress on the tablesmaster and it was pretty good so far. Here it is.

The Tokyo Olympics have ended with an upbeat ceremony in Tokyo.
Dame Valerie Adams was the New Zealand team’s flag bearer for the closing ceremony.
The stage looked sparse even as athletes marched in carrying their national flags. Many of the best-known athletes have already left Tokyo and were not able to attend the vent. Athletes were asked to fly home 48 hours after their final competition.
In all around 150 nations took part in the closing ceremony.
The ceremony included ska bands, football freestyles, break dancers and BMX riders, created more made-for-TV memories, culminating in athletes thanking the people of Japan by making a heart gesture with their hands.

Instagram has announced that it will set all under 16’s account to private by default.
This means that only approved followers can see posts and “like” or comment.
Instagram data shows that only one in five opted for a public account when the private setting was the default,
Existing account holders, who are under 16 will would be sent a notification “highlighting the benefits” of switching to private.
Instagram has recently come under criticism, failing to remove harmful content and using children’s data for target adverts.
It has developed a range of child-protection measures.
In March, it announced older users would be able to message teenagers who already followed them only.
